James Edward FORD of the parish of St.Stephen, Coleman Street, bachelor, married Frances STRANSHAM, spinster, by Licence on 19 June 1802 in St.Giles, Camberwell.

Both signed their names.

[Baptism of Jane Murray FORD not found. She appears aged 35 on the 1851 census for Birkfields Barracks, Liverpool HO107/2185/723 with her new husband William Glendonwyn SCOTT of the 91st Regiment, and her birthplace is given as Essex. William's service record WO76/455 at the National Archives, London gives his marriage as 8 January 1850 in the Roman Catholic Church, Grahamstown. In the report of the marriage written in February 1850 from Fort England included in WO25/3240 part 2 page 841, available as a free download from the National Archives, Jane's age on 8 January 1850 was 33 years 346 days, making her date of birth 27 January 1816. According to a family Bible in the Albany Museum, Grahamstown, she was born on 27 January 1814 in the parish of St.Matthew, Bethnal Green.]
