Death Notice (Cape Archives) says he was born in St.Luke's, Middlesex, son of Thomas and Henrietta MILLS

He was the son of Thomas MILLS, corn chandler of New Road, St.George's East, London, and was one of a small party that proposed to emigrate under the leadership of Joseph OLDHAM but was subsequently absorbed by BAILIE's Party.
