Additonal Information
This is pre 1820 information mainly taken from actual images of UK parish registers and other primary sources which I have personally researched. Further information about the settlers and their families once they reached the Cape can be found at https://www.1820settlers.com/

There are some discrepancies about this family in the various settler lists.
Death Notice (Cape Archives) says he was born in London ca 1794, the son of John and Sarah MILLER. The children born prior to 1820 are listed as Sarah, Thomas, Sophia and James.
London Metropolitan Archives
Thomas MILLER married Mary Ann RAWLINS by banns on 12th August 1811 in St.Mary's, Hanwell, Middlesex
Both signed
Witnesses: Mary TURNER (X) and Samuel BURTON
Baptism of Sarah not found
Thomas son of Thomas & Mary Ann MILLER, Latham Street, Turner, baptised 16th April 1815 in St.Pancras, London
Sophia dau of Thomas & Mary Ann MILLER, [illegible] Street, Turner, baptised 21st December 1817 in St.Pancras, London
[It is interesting to note that the entry immediately above that of Sophia MILLER in 1817, on the same day, is that of Emma MILLER, daughter of William and Sophia.
C.T. Campbell, in "British South Africa" (London, 1897) gives, under Mandy's party:
MILLER, William, 29; wife Sophia 26; children: Emma 2, Mary 1.
MILLER, Thomas, 29; wife Mary Ann 25; children: Sarah 7, Thomas 4, Sophia 2, and Mary Ann 1.]
Possible baptism for James:
James son of Thomas and Mary MILLER, Jacob Street, Bermondsey, Chair-maker, baptised 24 November 1819 in St.Mary's, Rotherhithe (born 14 November)[date fits death announcement for James in the Grahamstown Journal for 1 March 1886, which says he was the second son of 1820 settler Thomas MILLER, and died on 22 February 1886 aged 66 years and 3 months]
Death Notice (Cape Archives) for Mary Ann RAWLINS suggests she was born in 1794.
Cityark (Registers for St.George's, Gravesend, Kent)
Mary Ann daughter of John and Mary RAWLINS baptised 3 August 1794
