Lucy presumably died in infancy as only Susanna and Thomas GARBETT accompanied their step father Joseph DONOVAN to the Cape.

In his 1819 correspondence Joseph makes no mention of his stepdaughters.
Joseph and Susanna moved from Grahamstown to Bengal, India c 1828. Susanna died at sea in 1835 during a return voyage to the Cape.
