Death Notice (Cape Archives) says he was born in Leeds, the son of Mark and Mary COCKCROFT. See Gravestone.

Bishop's Transcriptslists the baptism of Thomas as above but gives the father as Charles, Camp Row. 

[No other possible baptism for Thomas has been found, but his gravestone says he was 74 when he died on 17 December 1881, which would put his year of birth as 1807]
