My Lord,
I am desirous to avail myself of the terms which Govt. proposes with respect to the Cape of Good Hope Colonization but I wish before entering into any engagements with the party I intend should accompany me to procure from your Lordship intimation as to the certainty of those terms being complied with on application for that purpose and whether there be any difficulties or delays to be feared in consequence of the number of applicants and further whether all applications consistent with the terms promulgated by Govt. are equally available or whether any preference be given to those on the largest scale.
I am my Lord your most obedient humble servant
Henry GRIFFITH
