Gt. Bentley Green
20th July 1819
My Lord,
Having been employed some time in the Medical Department of the Army, and now out of employ, I feel a strong desire to emigrate to some other country and being at a loss how to gain proper information as to the conditions which is consistent to be obtained from British Government in procuring land &c but through the influence of your Honorable situation which is so readily made known to persons in similar circumstances I humbly submit my case for your Lordship's favourable consideration and beg to remain
Your Lordship's most obedient and very humble servant
John DAWSON
