South Newton, Wilts
Dec 10 1819
My Lord,
In consequence of the recommendation of Lord Falmouth I take the liberty of addressing your Lordship and soliciting your Lordship’s attention in favour of Mr. Miles BOWKER, whom I have had the pleasure of knowing intimately for three years, and of whom as an honest & worthy man and a conscientious good Christian I can speak in the highest terms. His family connections are very respectable – himself descended from an ancient family of rank in the County of Northumberland, and his wife from that of MITFORD of Mitford in the same county. As curate of the parish in which Mr. BOWKER has resided for the last three years I can conscientiously speak in his favour, and of his good deeds among my parishioners, who will in losing him have to regret the loss of a very great benefactor.
Whatever attention your Lordship may in your Lordship’s official situation be disposed and enabled to show towards Mr. BOWKER I will venture to say with confidence you will have no reason to regret. You will receive the gratitude of a deserving man, and confer an invaluable favour on
My Lord
Your Lordship’s obedient humble servant
William BOSCAWEN
