Death Notice (Cape Archives) says he was born in Kensington, Middlesex, the son of Nicholas and Alice HOGSFLESH

I Nicholas HOGSFLESH Sen'r of the parish of Windlesham in the County of Surrey, Yeoman........bequeath unto my son Nicholas HOGSFLESH of Egham in the County of Surrey, Yeoman, all that my freehold messuages or tenement, with a garden adjoining and belonging thereto with a turf house and stable and all and every of their appurtenances (and now in my own tenure and occupation and which I purchased of John MOORE of said parish of Windlesham in the County of Surrey, Husbandman) situate or standing and being in the said parish of Windlesham in the County of Surrey aforesaid: I also give and bequeath unto my said son Nicholas HOGSFLESH aforesaid all that my three pieces or parcels of freehold land, containing by estimation two acres (be the same more or less) commonly called or known by the name of Down Hill situate lying and being in the parish of Windlesham in the County of Surrey aforesaid:(and now in my own tenure and occupation). I likewise bequeath.....

£20 to his son James HOGSFLESH of Orpington, Coachman

1 shilling to his son George HOGSFLESH of Aldershot

Leasehold property, furniture &c to his daughter Jane LEAKE and her husband John LEAKE of Windlesham, Cordwainer.

 

Nicholas HOGSFLESH and Mary YOUNG, widow, were married by banns on 6 January 1765 in St.Mary's, Lambeth
