James FORWARD sojourner of this parish and Mary DOWN of the Parish of Crediton were married by banns on 21 October 1782 in St.Thomas, Exeter, Devon

Witnesses: Wm. FORD and James [NICK?]

 

Wm. son of James FORWARD and Mary baptised 22 August 1783 in Crediton, Devon (born 30 January)

 

William FORWARD late of the South Dn. Militia and Elizabeth SMALE, both of the Parish of Crediton were married by banns this 16th day of February 1808 in Ottery St.Mary, Devon

Friday 17 March 1820: Departed this life William FORWARD settlers child. Body of the above infant to the deep.
Monday 27 March 1820: Departed this life Sarah FORWARD settlers wife. Committed the body of the above woman to the deep.

Weymouth Log lists William's first wife as Sarah. The Settler Returns list her as Elizabeth.

 

William was a mason and wrote a letter to the Government from Trowbridge, Wiltshire in 1819.
